Mark Zuckerberg said $META'squarter was a success and Meta AI has the potential to become the world's most used AI assistant by the end of the year. Those are pretty bold words. Who do you think is currently leading the way in terms of AI and AI assistants?
It's hard to say, it's all still relatively early days, so I don't want to judge. I think it's still pretty even and time will tell who is asleep and who is leading.
Tesla $TSLA on Tuesday reported its lowest profit margin in more than five years and missed Wall Street's earnings targets in the second quarter as the electric-car maker cut prices to revive demand while boosting spending on artificial intelligence projects.
...We would have to wait for growth to be overcome. The stock has been up enough as it is and now it has confirmed that it is not yet up to these levels. I think the results OK and the move in line with them.
New data from analyst firm CivicScience shows that Tesla $TSLA's popularity among Democrats has dropped to 16% as of July 16, compared to 39% in January. Among Republicans, the data shows that popularity has dropped to 23% from 36% in the same time period.
...It's a higher risk bet. The company will probably succeed, but I don't think it will succeed to the extent expected. Well, we got the results today, so we'll see.
Chip stocks have lost more than $500 billion in value due to trade concerns with China. This has pushed$AMD down to an interesting level. Anyone buying or is it still expensive on you?
Google is in advanced talks to acquire startup Wiz for about $23 billion. It would be the company's most expensive acquisition. Does anyone know what makes Wiz so interesting?
German sports car maker Porsche said on Tuesday that global vehicle deliveries in the first half of the year were down 7% compared to the same period in 2023, mainly due to a 33% year-on-year decline in China.
But what is it? Porsche and VW are always pulling buyers.
I have $P911.DE stock in my portfolio, it's not a big position, but I trust the company.
Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said on Tuesday he was encouraged by weaker inflation, but stressed that the central bank would need to see more evidence before cutting interest rates. So he said pretty much what he always says😅 But I get it, a man in his position has to be careful what he says.
The last two inflation figures in April and May "suggest we are back on a...

I'll add my opinion here too, which I haven't changed for a few months now, and that's agreeing with caution as you write about it, Powell and the Fed are like that too in my opinion thanks to the election. Although all sides say no, it certainly has an effect and I believe in one reduction, but also not until the end, November/December.
Hey investors, how do you see it now with companies like $VALE and $RIO? I see that both are losing a few percent over the last month, but I can't quite track down the reasons why. I'm more interested though, what do you think of the current valuation?
So that price is fine for me to buy. The stock has been dropping quite a bit lately, so why not. But there's just a lot of questions and why it's falling and whether the upside potential is there.
Intel $INTC will invest $1.2 billion in Costa Rica over the next two years, the company said. The announcement comes after the U.S. State Department said in July that it would work with the Costa Rican government to support Costa Rica's semiconductor sector through the Chip and Science Act through 2022.
I really like the way Intel is changing and will have to take a closer look at this company :)
I don't know if it's the right thing to do, but at least it's an attempt. Disney is trying to reverse the number of declining subscribers in India by offering free cricket on mobile phones.
...Targeting one of the largest markets is quite a logical move. I like that, but the question is whether they will actually succeed...I continue to hold the company's shares, so some growth would definitely be nice :)
Happy Apple $AAPL dividend day everyone. It probably won't be a dividend day for me, but if I look at Warren Buffett, he's going to get almost $220 million today 😀
13F 👉 Michael Burry shorts again! His $1.6 billion bet on a market decline is out.
- He bought put options on $SPY worth $890 million.
- He bought put options on $QQ worth $740 million.
This now makes up 93% of his entire portfolio.
Opinions? 👀
Overwhelmingly pleased with Amazon's $AMZN results. We're seeing growth in revenue (+11% yoy), earnings, earnings per share, the AWS segment (+12% yoy and that's not even properly reflecting the AI bet) and the advertising business is up 22%. Good old Amazon is back 🔥 In the aftermarket the stock jumped almost +9%.
Plus, Amazon said it expects its Q3 sales to grow 9% to 13%...

I guess having almost 50% of the portfolio in Apple $AAPL (like W. Buffett) actually makes sense. If we have a chance to follow the company, let's see how far it's come in the last 10, 15 years. It's a very complex and diverse company, and their "new" savings account?
...
It's an interesting business, but not very attractive to me.
